ADS Video ReviewCheck out what ADS had to say about the Tomahawk NV and TC3 kit. |
At the point of injury, while applying Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), Combat Medics face a daunting challenge: Assess and treat each casualty as quickly and effectively as possible while maintaining a defensible position in order to keep oneself from becoming the next casualty. In order to provide the highest level of care to troops on and off the battlefield, Combat Medics rely heavily on the gear and equipment within their aid bags. If it's in the bag, it simply has to work when it's time for the Medic to perform.
In response to the a growing, and to this point unmet need from tactical medical professionals, we set out to design and deliver lighting tools that enhance illumination at the point of injury and perform across the full spectrum of TCCC applications.
Hands-free design via chest mounting versus head mounting and full 180° adjustability of the light source add a unique set of features specifically engineered to assist the Combat Medic. In addition, we take the "T" in TCCC very seriously and provide the Medic with a lighting tool that can be used in conjunction with a weapon.
ENHANCING POINT OF INJURY ILLUMINATION BY:
INCREASING SURVIVABILITY – by moving a potentially targeted light source from the head to the most protected part of the Soldier’s body – the chest.
REDUCING OUTPUT SIGNATURE – by utilizing a non-glaring wavelength (red/green mix); orienting the LEDs down to "shield" the LEDs from direct view, and decreasing light movement (when compared to head or helmet mounted lights) – all key factors in signature reduction.
IDENTIFYING INJURIES – a proprietary mix of red and green LEDs operated at the appropriate wave-length and brightness setting will "highlight" the color red, especially blood, and subdue other colors (and fluids) when compared to using blue, red, green or white light alone. Check out the video to the right to see the difference for yourself. It not only provides medics with a quick tool to accurately assess a casualty in low light/night time conditions, it allows them to maintain light discipline.
